So far, eight meteorites have been found in Switzerland. Of these, the Twannberg Meteorite is the only Hexaedrit.

Worldwide only six Hexaedrit IIG Meteorites have been found: The Bellsbank, La Primitiva, Tombigbee, Twannberg, Guanaco and the Auburn meteorite.

Only about 75 Kilograms of the Twannberg Meteorite have been found. A detailed scientific study has shown that this meteorite fell between 107'000 and 223'000 years ago. It is quite remarkable that in spite of this long time on earth hardly any traces of rust and corrosion can be found on its parts.

All this makes the Twannberg an outstanding collector's item.
